Tour de Farce Won by Mr. Wonderful

Reno, NV -   The first annual Tour de Farce bicycle race was won by 62 year old Mr. Wonderful completing the prescribed 62 mile course in less time than any other competitors.  Mr. Wonderful was joined in the last 12 miles by his wife of 30-mumble years, who finished her leg of the race with a frown while clutching his life insurance policy in her hand.  Temperature at race end was 92.5 F.  (Ed: Midwestern readers should note this is equivalent to 75 Degrees Iowa)

Although the race was scheduled to coincide with the better known Tour de France, organizers (Mr. Wonderful Enterprises) were surprised at the relatively low number of entries in the inaugural year.  Entries were limited to Reno residents turning 62 on July 27th, 2001 and having graduated from any public high school in Burlington, Iowa during 1957.  Full race coverage has been scheduled for broadcast on ESPN 47 at 3:00 AM on February 18, 2004.  Mr. Wonderful is sponsored in no part by Marin Bikes.
