Kids overrun AARP Candidates in Lakeridge Finals

Reno, Nv - In an unprecedented attempt to fool Mother Nature, a Reno tennis team consisting of Caughlin "Mad Dog" Macmillian (circa 1950) and Bruce "Mr. Wonderful" Wyborny (circa 1939) barely fell to the "Reno Hilton Whippersnappers" (Jerome Bos and Michael Geist) whose combined age can't possible be over 40!! Although the match score was 6-0, 6-2 it was not as close as the score would indicate.

The prestigious LTC 2000 Tennis Tournament is strategically timed to coincide with Wimbledon thus eliminating the "ringers".  The tournament draws players from as far away as California which is approximately 14 miles from Reno.

Mr. Wonderful quickly had his tennis shoes bronzed as seen along with the coveted "Lakeridge Tennis Club 2000 Class Tournament Men's 3.5 Doubles Finalist" trophy.jpg (273013 bytes) trophy.   Mad Dog had suggested the use of cement while the shoes were still on, followed by a quick swim in Lake Tahoe.

A short pictorial essay tells it all, from the beginning..........  before.jpg (88912 bytes)
through the match ...... hope.jpg (50419 bytes)  ..  clearlyout.jpg (85057 bytes)  ..  toes.jpg (115651 bytes)  ..   oldfart.jpg (67353 bytes)

to finally .............           after.jpg (134224 bytes)
