"I Don't Make Mistakes"

Based on the children’s book, "You Are Special" by Max Lucado And "Who am I" by Dr. Neil Anderson Narrator: Max Lucado wrote a book about wooden people with a woodworker who fashioned each wooden person differently in looks and talents. Unfortunately the villagers, much like us, had their eyes on each other to speak out either acclaim or disdain. They began to give each other stars for beauty or talent and dots for failure or unattractiveness. All day long the people gave each other stars from the "star box" or dots from the "dot box". Before long if you had too many dots, you could get a dot just for having dots. And that made you want to stay home or go where others had only dots all over them. Enter Andrew with dots and stars on his body - after a few moments Enter Joanna Narrator: One day our main character, Andrew, met a girl named Joanna. To his amazement she had neither stars nor dots. And even if the other villagers tried to give her stars or dots they just fell to the ground. Attempts to put dots and stars on Joanna by others in the audience. Narrator Andrew thinks to himself, "That’s the way I want to be, I don’t want anyone’s marks. So he asks Joanna: Andrew speaks: "Why are you stickerless, and how did you do it?" Joanna replies: "It’s easy, every day I go to the woodcarver. I sit in the workshop with him." Andrew says, "Why?" Joanna says: "Why don’t you find out for yourself? Go up the hill. He’s there," Enter Jesus (songs of praise) Crown Him King of Kings, etc, Narrator: Jesus takes a seat on His throne – Notice the cross is leaning on one side of His chair, a crown is on the other side. This indicates His triumph over death and His Kingship. Jesus speaks: " Andrew, let me have a look at you. How good to see you." Andrew speaks: "You know my name". Jesus says: "Of course I do, I made you." I thought of you even before I made you." "I see you have been given some bad marks." Narrator continues: Their conversation continues with Andrew confessing he had tried to do his best . And Jesus assures Andrew that He doesn’t care what others think about him. And that all that matters is what I think, and I think you are pretty special. Andrew continued his visits with His maker every day along with the book Jesus told him to bring with him. Jesus told him the Holy Spirit had written the book and would teach him to know God and His ways. As Andrew learned about the cross and how Jesus’ Father had sent him into the world because He loved everyone and did not want anyone to parish. That anyone who accepts His Son, Jesus, (the woodcarver) would have eternal life. He learned that the woodcarver had stretched out his arms on a cross and gave his life willingly for all the stars and dots to be removed. Andrew learned because of that death and then a miraculous resurrection, he was set free from sins and man’s expectations. He was now considered righteous. There was so much to learn – especially that the dots and stars fell off when he no longer cared what man thought. Only the truth Andrew learned about his new life in Christ set him free and the dots began to fall to the ground. Being accepted by the woodcarver as His child, His friend, and totally forgiven, he began to feel secure and free from all condemnation, and that all things worked together for his good, that nothing could separate him from the woodcarver, that he was a citizen of heaven forever, that he could find mercy and grace in time need. He was indeed born of God now, and the evil one could not touch him. He further learned in the Book in his times with Jesus being instructed by the Holy Spirit that he was significant. Jesus told him he was the salt and light of the earth. He told Andrew he was now to go and tell the other villagers about his freedom and how he was reconciled to God. He was to give glory to God for his new life and liberty. He had a new identity in Christ. His identity was not in what he did but in whose he was. His true identity as a child of God gave him victory. And he even told the villagers, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Andrew determined in his heart to be a servant of the Most High God, to help bring His Kingdom to earth, and to bring glory to God. Jesus had convinced him he was special because He had made him and had a purpose for his life. He had gifts he wanted to give him, and promised to pour out His Spirit upon him in order to carry out that purpose. Jesus speaks: " And I don’t make mistakes." More songs of praise. |
