CHRISTMAS CANDLE LIGHTING SERVICE
HONORING FATHER, SON AND HOLY SPIRIT
"IT TOOK ALL THREE"
Music chosen by Gladys
Joy begins:
Genesis 1:1 "In the beginning God created the heavens and the
earth." Our galaxy needs 200 million years to make one rotation. And there
are over one billion other galaxies just like ours. Our God is an awesome God.
God did not need to create the universe; he chose to create it. Why? God is
love and love is best expressed toward something or someone else – so God
created the world and people as an expression of his love.
Genesis 1:26 "Then God said, let Us make man in Our image….. male and
female He created them." The Us we believe represents the Trinity: God the
Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. And it took all three to save us.
Today the children from Shiloh will light candles honoring A God having several
persons in Himself, and the New Hope children will present the birth of Jesus
Christ,.
Pastor Joy prays to honor the Father for his plan, i.e. below.
A plan was set in motion by the all-knowing, eternal God long before the
world was created. Christ’s sacrifice for our sins was not an afterthought,
not something God decided to do when the world got out of control. God paid a
ransom to free us from the tyranny of sin. We could not escape from sin on our
own, only the life of God’s Son could free us.
